At least, I think so.
This means I'll be doing something I rarely do: Review an album.
An album by a band I don't even like.
Especially now.
I will say this, however. They put on a good live show, as established by the concert they put on here, about a week back.
The album in question is the new release by the band all people who know nothing about music seem to love: Slipknot, and thier newest musical abomination, "All Hope Is Gone".
This band, now dubbed either Stone Knot, or Slipsour, by a friend of mine, due to the lack of difference betweeen this band, and Stone Sour, a band a few of the members of said band are a part of, have taken what they started with thier first, self titled album, found everything good with it, and in decided they didn't like being semi-respected musicians, did the opposite.
I could do a track by track review, but it would be a waste of time, as every song, save one or two, sounds exactly the same. A moderately slow rock song, with "brootul" metaphors and a singing style that could only be described as well..horrible.
Vocalist Corey Taylor has proven, through this album, something that I realized long ago. He can no longer sing. Which, I'll admit, is at least honest of them. They could have taken the pop star approach and made it seem like he still could.
Most songs from this "heavy" band, are nothing of the sort. Aside from thier "single", there is maybe one or two songs that could even be slightly reminiscent of anything resembling heavy music.
I won't go into detail, because there are no, aside from the complete lack of, good things to say about this album.
The vocals are strained, and have no harmony whatsoever. The music, which while showing a bit of promise, at least in this style, have no unity, and sound like everything was thrown together haphazardly. Which, it was, actually, as it was revealed that that was the case. All the tracks were recorded separately, starting with the drums, which was a recipe for disaster.
Well, they at least admit the truth. That for this band, thier fanbase, and for anyone who has decided to listen to this piece of shit: All Hope Is Gone.
You have been warned, spread the word. This album is the biggest piece of shit to hit the world of music in many a year.

There are two kinds of thieves in this world:
the ones who steal to enrich their lives,
and those that steal to define their lives.
Well, I've been calling them Slipsour since there third album, and when I heard people say this album was going to "take them back to there roots", I was skeptical. It sounds like I should of been right.
Good review.
